A developer's guide to EDI
Adrian Duyzer
I first encountered EDI in 2020. At that point Iâd been writing software professionally for 20 years. I was accustomed to complaining about XML. You can imagine my reaction to EDI.
I figured it out eventually, but it was more painful than it needed to be. Iâm struck by the fact that there are still few good resources to help newcomers to the field get situated. Most of the results for searching âunderstanding EDI as a developerâ are corporate top-of-the-funnel landing pages designed for conversion, not education.
Iâve taken a crack at filling that gap. I just released a guide about EDI, aimed at developers and technical people, that treats readers like theyâre more than a wallet.
Itâs free (and doesnât require sign-up), itâs interactive, itâs wired into a comprehensive X12 Reference, and itâs got an âAsk a questionâ widget on every page.
