Statistical Government Information
Statistical Government Information (X12 152) is a transaction set used to transmit statistical data and demographic information to government agencies. Typically sent by organizations such as employers, healthcare providers, or educational institutions in response to government data collection requests or reporting requirements, it contains structured statistical records organized by entity and reporting period. The BGN (Beginning Segment) establishes the transaction purpose and timeframe, the N1 (Name) segment identifies the reporting entity and related parties, and the GRI (Statistical Government Information) segment carries the actual statistical data points being reported.
For example, a regional healthcare network might submit an X12 152 to a state health department containing quarterly employment statistics. The transaction would use the BGN segment to identify the report as Q3 2024 employment data, employ multiple N1 loops to identify the healthcare network’s corporate office, regional facilities, and affiliated clinics with their contact information via PER (Administrative Communications Contact) segments, and then populate multiple GRI loops with headcount, full-time equivalent, and wage statistics for each facility along with corresponding QTY (Quantity) and PAM (Period Amount) segments to detail staffing levels and payroll amounts by employee category and reporting period.
