Updated Service Terms Governing X12 Content & AI

We’ve posted updated Service Terms today, which take effect October 24, 2026. They can be viewed here:

In a nutshell: Tediware licenses the X12 standard from X12 Incorporated, and that license limits how X12 content can be used with AI. The updated terms pass that limit on to you. X12 reference content from Tediware, such as segment, element and transaction set definitions and their code lists, can’t be used to train, ground or prompt an AI system outside Tediware, and can’t be extracted for use elsewhere.

What this means for you: looking up the X12 reference in Tediware, through the API or with the tedi CLI works as before, and so do the AI features inside Tediware. Your own EDI documents, mappings and implementations are unaffected. What the terms rule out is feeding X12 reference content to your own AI tools.

Continued use on or after October 24 constitutes acceptance. If you don’t agree, cancel before that date. If you have questions, write us at info@tediware.com
